Jill C. Chodkowski is a graduate of S.U.N.Y. Binghamton (B.A. 2001) and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (J.D. 2004). She concentrates her practice in the areas of Family Law, Real Estate Law, and General Civil Litigation. Jill practices in Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Lorain, Summit, Ashtabula, and Medina counties.

Family Law

Jill focuses her practice on domestic relations issues arising in divorce and dissolution matters, including the division of marital assets, valuation of businesses, valuation of pension and retirement benefits, spousal support, visitation, and child custody.

Jill can assist you in filing for a Divorce. Divorce is a filing of a lawsuit to terminate a marriage. It may involve the issues of property division, 'alimony'/spousal support (financial support for a spouse), child custody, visitation and support. In this process, there is a final contested hearing or trial in which a judge makes the final decision.

Jill will also advise you if a Dissolution is an alternative option to filing for a Divorce. Dissolution also legally terminates a marriage, whereby the parties reach an agreement which they must submit to the Court for approval. This process is often a quicker and less expensive option than divorce.

Jill also represents clients in post-divorce matters including: Move-aways or relocations with children; Modification of child custody, visitation or parenting plans; Legal Separations; Modification of child support; Enforcement of existing agreements; and Contempt of court proceedings.

Real Estate

Jill handles a variety of real estate matters including: Failure to disclose; Foreclosure Defense; Loan Modification/Short Sales/Deeds-In-Lieu of Foreclosure. Jill also has experience handling landlord-tenant disputes and evictions.

Jill is available to meet with clients in the evenings and on weekends, on the East or West side of Cleveland.
